The field of Wilderness and Expedition Medicine is rapidly evolving and gaining popularity. Over the years, many motivated practioners have sought out experience and knowledge on their own. More recently, formal courses in "Wilderness Medicine" have been developed to meet the expanding needs of professionals with special interests in areas such as high altitude medicine, mountain medicine, expedition medicine, tropical medicine, etc. Our medical education group, based in Vancouver, Canada, is developing a wilderness medicine curriculum
aimed specifically at physicians and we would like to get your imput on how the curriculum should be developed. Our plan is to offer an intensive, 2 day (weekend) course that will cover theory and practical skills relevant to various aspects of wilderness and expedition medicine.

Here are some questions for you:
1) What motivates you to participate in a Wilderness/Expedition Medicine course?
2) What would you ideally want to learn (knowledge and skills) in a Wilderness/Expedition medicine course?
3) What are the 10 most preoccupying things that you prepare for before beginning an expedition/trip?
4) What are the 10 most difficult situations you've been in during an expedition/trip that you wish you had more knowledge about or more training in?

Many thanks,
Mark
