Ship's doctor for a documentary

EQUITES FILM STUDIO is looking for a native English-speaking physician for a documentary based on the expedition across the Atlantic Ocean (www.columbusquest.tv). The project consists of a live teleconference series from the EQUITES Team expedition and a 52-min. popular science adventure documentary as a final product.

We are a team of professional travelers EQUITES. In November 2008 we are going to organize a research expedition without precedent: the EQUITES Team is attempting to cross the Atlantic Ocean without food and water. Total duration of fasting is 40 days; first 10 of them are the days of dry fasting. The journey will take place along the same route as Columbus’ first crossing of the ocean. There will be filmed a video based on material from the Columbus Quest expedition which will be an instructional serial on therapeutic fasting.

Duration of the expedition: approx. from November 15, 2008 to January 10, 2009.

We need a physician on shipboard to study a health status of the participants of our medical and psychological experiment. He is supposed to:

• keep a day-by-day ship’s journal fixing vital signs of participants
• participate in a film and a live teleconference series

Expedition products are:

• «Columbus Quest», a popular science adventure documentary (52 min.). The documentary is supposed to be broadcasted at TV-channels throughout the world. The target audience is Europe and the USA. There will be several language versions; the basic one is English version. Actor Gérard Depardieu is a narrator of the documentary (Depardieu plays Columbus in the movie 1492: Conquest of Paradise, one of the most brilliant films made about Columbus’ adventures.). The Russian version will be dubbed by Russian singer, actor and TV anchor Andrey Makarevich.

• Live teleconference series from the EQUITES Team expedition. Millions of TV viewers throughout the world will have a chance to have a talk with the participants of the experiment using a teleconference link at a studio in Paris. The live teleconference will be an international publicity for all the participants of the experiment including ship's doctor. His name will go down in history of experimental medicine.

Remuneration for the ship's doctor will be specified.

Goltis, Constantin and Andriy are professional adventurers who have already gained invaluable survival experience in the most forbidding of circumstances over the course of their many extreme expeditions. Each participant has experience of long-term fasting both with and without water. Team commander Goltis set up a personal record of 54-day fasting. They intend to show people that not only is it possible to survive without food and water, but such an experience can actually be beneficial to the body, and can be done by anyone.
