Expedition medics for long term conservation, scientific research and community development expedition to Amazonian Ecuador. See www.gvi.co.uk for further expedition details. The successful applicant will be looking to join gvi long term and live and work in the Amazon, acting as the expedition and community doctor. The person will be hard working, and will enjoy living in very basic condition, so running water or electricity, at a very remote location.
The person will have a strong interest in conservation and be willing to learn both teaching and scientific techniques, and enjoy assisting to manage a group of adult volunteers. It is very hard work, but extremely rewarding. Conditions are food, accom and 450 USD per month, plus a flight contribution. The successful applicant will need to purchase own flight, medical and medical liability insurance. Minimum contract, 1 year. Short term voluntary medic positions also available.
