MPhil in Medical Art
The aim of the course is to provide an opportunity, within the appropriate environment, for artists who wish to study and apply their skills and talents to illustrating medicine.
The studies will be research based, the chosen research topic will provide the material upon which the student will base his or her practical work. At the same time students will become familiar with the artist's role and relationship with patients, with matters relating to health and safety, and with the legal and ethical issues associated with Medical Illustration. Chosen areas of research will be assessed to ensure that they provide a broad anatomical and surgical spectrum without which a student may be limited in their abilities at the conclusion of the studies.
The research may take the form of a 3-dimensional study, a 2-dimensional full-colour study or a combination of 3D and 2D study.
